In Michigan, it is a system designed to give all students a jump-start on their futures by providing them with opportunities with greater choices to explore a variety of careers thoughout their K-12 education and beyond. The system is designed to provide all students completing the Michigan educational system with the necessary academic, technical and work behavior knowledge and skills for success in a career of their choice and lifelong learning. The Career Preparation System is a continuum from elementary through postsecondary education (K-16) culminating in student acquisition of credentials signifying both academic and career competency achievement and successful transition into employment.
